Crystal Lake Public
Library (CLPL) recently offered patrons the opportunity to save money
and add value to the community. The Library held a "Pay It
Forward - Fine Forgiveness" event. Patrons with outstanding
Library fines were invited to bring in cash or a check for half the
amount of their fine. The money was donated to the Crystal Lake
Food Pantry (CLFP). The other half of the fine was
forgiven.
Pictured above:
CLPL Director Kathryn I. Martens (front row) presenting a check for
$6,057 to CLFP President Marilyn Georgy and CLFP Coordinator Hilary
Hite. Pictured in the second row from left to right are CLPL
Circulation Department Head Pam Miller, CLPL Board of Trustees
Member Don Peters, Community Harvest Co-Chair Judy Pelinski, Community
Harvest Chamber Liaison Sue Bechtold and CLFP Advisor Ken Grubb.

Thanks
to the volunteers and customers who helped make our mum sale a success. We
raised $567.50 to support Library activities and even donated the remaining
plants to the Library.
Be
sure to mark the dates of our next fundraisers on your calendar. Jewel Shop
& Share is scheduled for December 15 -17. You can
pick up your coupons at the Library.
We
are looking for someone with website development experience to train Jeremy
to maintain the FOCLL website (www.focll.org). If you can spare a few hours,
it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Jeremy at jeremystamp@hotmail.com.
