Home-schooling in Illinois is considered to be a form of private education. While the law affords Illinois parents a great degree of latitude in designing and/or choosing a program of home education that best meets the needs of their children, it also has the effect of placing near-total responsibility on parents for their student’s education while they are being home-schooled. District 47 is happy to cooperate with home schools as far as is possible. Please contact Dr. Christine Harris at the District office and visit this useful link about home schooling through the Illinois State Board of Education.
 

In accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), states must provide notification to parents of ELL students in districts that are identified for improvement because the district did not make annual measureable achievement objectives. Follow the links below for more information.
