New service: Voter Registration!

Several of our staff have been sworn in and trained to be deputy registrars for McHenry County. If you need to register to vote for the upcoming Nov. 4 election, stop by the Adult Services desk. Bring two forms of I.D., please. Last day to register for the Nov. 4 election is October 7.


Upcoming Programs: (registration required unless noted)


Fall Stamping with Darla: 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Ages 18 and up.

Fall Storytimes - "Soup to Nuts": Begin Monday, Sept. 8 and end October 9. Sessions for all ages.

Fiction Book Discussion Group: 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8. Talking about "Nickel and Dimed: on (not) Getting by In America" by Barbara Ehrenreich. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the front desk. Ages 18 and up.

Guys Read: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9. Discussing "The Great Brain" by John Fitzgerald. Ages 10 and up with adult guest. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the front desk.

Gamer's Open Play: 3-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. Play Guitar Hero, DDR and Wii games. Snacks provided. Grades 6-12.

Go Fetch Science Club: 2 p.m. Sat. Sept. 13. Ages 6-10.

Non-Fiction Book Discussion Group: 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16. Discussing "Deep Survival: Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why: True Stories of Miraculous Endurance and Sudden Death" by Laurence Gonzales.  Copies of the book are available for checkout at the front desk. Ages 18 and up.

Camp Rock Party: 10 a.m. - noon Friday, Sept. 19. Grades 1-5.

Be a Designer: 1-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19. Grades 5-8.

Girls Read: 10 a.m. Sat. Sept. 20. Talking about "Eleven" by Lauren Myracle. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the front desk. Ages 10 and up with adult guest.
